With Halloween coming up pretty soon -- yes, it is a few months away -- but it's never too soon to get in the spirit of our favorite holiday, is it? Agreed, The Stanley Hotel may have inspired Stephen King’s masterpiece, but we believe it is the Black Monarch Hotel that will truly bring shivers down the guests' spine. As reported by Travel + Leisure. The hotel located in Victor, Colorado has been the talk of the town ever since it reopened. Although Victor is considered to be one of the oldest mining towns in the West, things have been really slow lately.

The town which once had a population of 18,000 in the 1800s, now, only has around 400 people living there at present. But things slowly started to change when visitors showed up at Victor for a very specific reason --The Black Monarch Hotel.

“The self-proclaimed ‘horror hotel’ is packed with curiosities, taxidermy, oddities, and trinkets, giving alternative travelers myriad strange sights to explore,” reads the property’s press release. Long story short, many people have reported that they believe the place is haunted.

The Black Monarch was built in the 1800s and contractor Adam Zimmerli bought the building which was once a saloon, brothel and later a casino. It was termed as the "finest gentlemen’s club west of the Mississippi."

When Adam first showed up in Victor, many people had warned him about The Black Monarch being haunted. But he knew it was the perfect business opportunity. He decided to change the hotel, giving it a more horror theme and designed each room based on infamous serial killers. If you visit the place, you will get to see a room named after HH Holmes, who was known as America’s first serial killer. There is another room based around Elizabeth Bathory.

Now if you are wondering how to get there, The Black Monarch reopened to the public on May 1 and is located 46 miles southwest of Colorado Springs. And it costs only $90 per night so it is definitely worth spending your Halloween nights there.

"If these walls could talk, they’d whisper the town’s lore of hauntings, a Wild West history of barkeep gunfights, a phoenix-like revision after a great fire in 1899 and even some history with Nicola Tesla," The Black Monarch's website reads. Ever since people got to know such a hotel exists, many horror buffs took to Twitter to express their excitement over the Black Monarch hotel.

"All I can think about is getting stuck in a Gein themed room, turning on the AC & watching the lampshades get goosebumps", a Twitter user said. Meanwhile, another added: "I have always wanted a getaway like this or I would love to stay at a haunted bed and breakfast."

So, what are you waiting for? Time to book your tickets and spend the night at this hotel of horrors. You never what's lurking out there.
