It's Official: 'Westworld' Is Returning For Season 3 This March And Here's The Teaser

The third season will bring back Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard and Tessa Thompson as Charlotte.

HBO hit series 'Westworld' is coming back for another mind-boggling third season on March 15, as announced by the network, reported Insider. The release date of the latest season was announced by the network along with a new teaser trailer which included a number of ominous moments from the television show that spells apocalyptic disaster. The teaser trailer begins with the impeachment of the 45th president, a second civil war breaking out in Russia, ecological disasters around the world, and some more devastating events that eventually becomes a huge issue altogether.

Co-creator of the show, Jonathan Nolan revealed in San Diego's Comic-Con last year that the new season was partially be inspired by Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, and will focus on a dystopian future.

According to Deadline, Nolan said, "Dystopia can look pretty beautiful in the world. Just because the world is corrupt inside, doesn’t mean it can’t be smothered over and pretty. We wanted to find a version of dystopia that we hadn’t seen before.”

In the trailer, it is also shown that the timeline of the event escalates with an unidentified narrator speaking about a "system" that was initiated in 2039. But that system apparently underwent its own "critical divergence" in 2058 and that is possibly when Dolores and the other "Westworld" hosts gained consciousness and took over the world by infiltrating the park.

The second season of the sci-fi dystopian series wrapped up where the fans got to know some really important answers to a number of questions and opened few more doors to even bigger mysteries. The season finale undoubtedly did an amazing job of breaking down everything you need to remember heading into the third season. The third season of the show will see a return of a number of stars like Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, and Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs.

Meanwhile, Aaron Paul has given a few details about his character and has teased “even more ambitious” third season, as reported by NME, where he revealed he knows the ending and it is absolutely insane. Season 3 can be expected to have 10 episodes as both the first and second season had 10 episodes each. The official synopsis of the show reads, "In a futuristic Western-themed amusement park, Westworld, the visitors interact with automatons. However, all hell breaks loose when the robots begin malfunctioning."
