This latest glow-in-the-dark hair trend is perfect for those looking to add to their spookiness on Halloween party nights.
Lately, we have seen many fashion trends come and go. Among these, the most noteworthy ones are hair trends. From galaxy hair, rainbow pastel hair, pixelated hair to merman hair, we have seen it all. Or have we? This latest glow-in-the-dark hair trend is perfect for those looking to add to their spookiness on Halloween party nights. No matter what age we are, anything that glows in the dark catches our attention and gets us super excited. So why should glow-in-the-dark hair be any different?
Created by celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang, this latest trend will literally make your hair glow in the dark. But this neon-colored hair look is not an easy feat to achieve. He uses Kenra Color Creative Neon Collection dye to get this offbeat look and it transforms the hair into a fluorescent rainbow shade. If you want to color your hair with a shade of glow-in-the-dark, we suggest that most importantly, get it done from a professional. There are lots of videos out there on DIY procedure, but its always better to seek professional help.
Tang suggests to bleach your hair completely and then get it dyed with bright neon colors to stand apart in a crowd or a dimly-lit room. In daylight, the hair color will remind you of that picture-perfect sunset you have been craving to see for so long. Once you add a black light into the mix, the hair quickly goes from magical sunset to a shade of glowing neon and your individual strands of hair will refract the light. In a conversation with TODAY, Tang explained, "I lightened the hair to almost platinum blond and strategically placed the neon colors that are black-light responsive."
The hair color he uses has a specific dye molecule formula that reacts to UV light and creates a glowing effect, Marc Stucky, the director of research and development for the hair dye brand explained. Tang also had a piece of advice for those who wanted to achieve this look. He explained that once you get the right product and lightened hair, you can get glow-in-the-dark hair with just one salon visit. A lot of people have followed Tang's advice and have shared the successful result on Instagram. Technically, the neon color is known as 'Phoenix Hair' and it serves as a wonderful rendition of the rainbow hair color trend.
While we are on the topic of hair color, you need to check out the rainbow hair color trend. Created by London-based hair colorist Carla Rinaldi of Not Another Salon, this hair color trend shows the possibility of having VIBGYOR color hair. The best part? It is hidden and under a shade of your usual hair and it reveals itself once your hair is moved or blown in the wind. When this hair color was THE talk of the fashion town, #hiddenrainbow and #hiddenrainbowhair took Instagram by storm.
