'The Handmaid's Tale' Returns For A Third Season To REVEAL The Birth Of A Revolution!

The new trailer reveals a stronger and a vengeful Elizabeth Moss, unlike the first two seasons, as she fights the battle of the misogynistic values of this world.

Handmaid’s Tale was a revelation when it hit the streaming platform Hulu. People talked about its dark dystopian take on the world. And now, we are in for a treat as the popular show is now returning for its third season. It comes on the heels of season 2 in which June decided to stay in Gilead to save Hannah after seeing Holly to safety with the help of Selena, Emily and a host of watchful Marthas, reports Forbes.

We got our first look at season 3 when the showrunners parodied former President Ronald Reagan’s 1984 Morning in America commercial during the Super Bowl. It did quite take us by surprise with the chilling footage. And now there is a new trailer out that reveals what we can expect from the upcoming season.

The trailer reveals a stronger and a vengeful Elizabeth Moss, unlike the first two seasons, as she fights the battle of the misogynistic values of this world. Although not much has been revealed in the trailer with regards to how the story pans out, one thing is certain, June means business this time.

But our guess is that the friendship between Serena and June will play a pivotal role this season, courtesy when June says Serena has “influence”. And when she replies “to a point”, June urges for her to “move the point”. Oh boy, that was insane! She might just take down Gilead after all.

Although the first season was mostly based on the novel written by Margaret Atwood, the second season steer cleared from it completely, giving us an entire season that expanded from the original story.

According to Hulu, the official synopsis of Handmaid’s Tale season 3 reads: “Season Three of The Handmaid’s Tale is driven by June’s resistance to the dystopian regime of Gilead and her struggle to strike back against overwhelming odds. Startling reunions, betrayals, and a journey to the terrifying heart of Gilead force all characters to take a stand, guided by one defiant prayer: “Blessed be the fight.”

In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Bruce Miller said June is “ready to rise up, and ready to take some chances and use all the skills she’s learned; the survival skills, the manipulation skills, just the strategic skills that she's learned. She's going to bring them all to bear on hurting Gilead and also helping her daughter, helping Hannah.”

Bruce Miller also revealed how he envisioned the show to end: "When we get to the end of Handmaid's Tale, I want it to be a beautiful piece of fiction, like the book, that you put a little bow around and you can put it on your shelf next to the book, and that it feels like a story well told from beginning to end. Going beyond that time? I'm not interested. I'd like it to be something as close to finished and feel like a complete piece of work as possible."

The third season will premiere on Hulu on June 5 and we can’t wait any longer. Watch the trailer here:
