Oregon Film and Travel Oregon are all set to organize a four-day film tour of 'The Goonies' to commemorate its 35th anniversary.
It's been a little under 35 years when The Goonies (1985) released and the audience followed a bunch of kids, attempting to save their homes from foreclosing and going on an adventure of a lifetime beneath the northern Oregon Coastline and Ecola State Park.
Now, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the film, Oregon Film and Travel Oregon will offer a five-city tour around the state—Eugene's Broadway Metro to Baker City, Salem Cinema to BendFilm, La Grande, and The Egyptian Theatre in Coos Bay. This is a combined effort to support the Oregon Film Museum and also for the celebration event of 'Goonies Day' in Astoria from June 4–7, 2020.

Speaking about the event, Todd Davidson, CEO of Travel Oregon, said: "This celebration is dedicated to the amazing Goonies fans and the special places where it was filmed. We hope this June's events will find Goonies lovers on location reliving one of the most beloved coming-of-age stories of the 1980s."
Executive Director of Oregon Film, Tim Williams, meanwhile, said: "We're so lucky as a state to have these creative partners to bring together a community to celebrate a film like this. It's always such a pleasure to remind people of the deep and exciting history this state has with film, and then gather together in places like Astoria to showcase famous Oregon locations."
The Goonies, released in 1985, was based on a story by Steven Spielberg, with a screenplay by Chris Columbus. Having been made on a $19 million budget, the Richard Donner-directed flick turned out to be a mammoth box office success of the year—bested only by Sylvester Stallone's Rambo: First Blood: Part II—and amassed over $124 million in the box office.
