The Power FINALLY Returns! 'Masters Of the Universe' has unveiled its first-look poster and it looks amazing.
Thank you Sony Pictures. We truly deserved a movie on a superhero who has been dubbed The Most Powerful Man In The Universe, and our wish is finally taking shape. Although it has been a long time coming, 'He-Man' finally gets a movie, courtesy Sony Pictures and Mattel who now have an update on the much-anticipated movie.
'Masters Of the Universe' has unveiled its first-look poster and it looks amazing! With the words “The Power Returns” written as the tag line we can only guess how brilliant it is going to be. Although we don't have many details on the movie, we do know it is being directed by brothers Adam and Aaron Nee (Band of Robbers), and Sony recently revealed that the film will hit the cinema halls on March 5, 2021.
Most fans are excited that He-Man finally gets his own movie after a wait of more than three decades to find his way back to the big screen. The movie is based on the 1980s action figure of He-Man that had paved the way for an animated TV show and a 1987 feature film with Dolph Lundgren.
The fantasy-adventure movie will have "Internet's very own boyfriend" and Netflix star Noah Centineo portraying the role of the Most Powerful Man in the Universe. If you haven't watched the first movie -- we are here to remind you that it starred Frank Langella, James Tolkan and Courteney Cox among others.
Although the movie didn’t manage to follow the path of other successful movies based on toys with a mere $17 million in worldwide box office receipts, the upcoming movie will hopefully look to change that perspective.
The official synopsis of the first movie reads: "When the evil Skeletor (Frank Langella) finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) locates inventor Gwildor (Billy Barty), who created the Key and has another version of it."
"During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie (Courteney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill). Now both He-Man and Skeletor's forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon," it concludes.
The upcoming is rewritten by “Iron Man” screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The project was earlier written by David S. Goyer, who is now the executive producer. The producers include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.
Noah Centineo will be playing the titular role in the movie. He will be playing the role of Prince Adam in the upcoming adaptation of the ‘80s toy icon who is known for his bulky ripped image and his blonde bob cut hair. He-Man is supposedly the heir to the throne of Eternia.
Noah became the talk of the town after featuring in a couple of Netflix movies including To All the Boys I've Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. He also made a name for himself with his performance in the final three seasons of the TV series The Fosters and the Disney Channel film How to Build a Better Boy.
