The second trailer of Guillermo Del Toro's 'Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark' is out and it is as CREEPY as the books!
Just in case you were not already excited enough for Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark, CBS Films has released yet another full trailer for the upcoming creepy movie and fans are delighted!
The trailer takes us further into the world of creepy stories that Alvin Schwartz wrote and Stephen Gammell illustrated decades ago. Remember the original books and the terrifying creatures from it? Of course, you do. Now, watch them all come to life, one by one, and try not to scream, we dare you.
The trailer opens up with a group of children walking around a creepy mansion because it only makes sense for children to do that, right? RIGHT? They also hit Harold, our dear scarecrow boy with a baseball bat, they have a literal death wish. And, well, imagine all the creepiest things you possibly could because the creators have successfully crafted them all in the 2-minute trailer. Also, if you are arachnophobic, you might wanna skip the trailer...
"From the dark imaginations of Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro and acclaimed director André Øvredal, based on the iconic book series, comes Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark — in theaters this summer," CBS captioned the trailer which stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrahms, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn.
"It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind...but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home," it adds.
The movie adaptation of the scary book series has been in development for the last six years and now that it finally has a release date, longtime fans can't be any more excited. It was 2013 when CBS Films acquired the rights to the book and the movie is finally coming to theatres near you this August 9, so mark your calendars. And, get some proper sleep while you are at it because once you watch the movie, all your childhood fears are going to come rushing back.
It may have taken six whole years for the movie to finish but the trailers are so brilliant, it is indeed worth the wait! The books will always be close to our hearts but watching the creepy monsters come to life is a whole another experience.
Directed by André Øvredal and produced by Guillermo Del Toro, who also wrote the screenplay, the movie will feature Harold the Scarecrow, Red Spot, The Pale Lady, Jangly Man, and Big Toe. Which one scares you the most? Watch the trailer below!
