Interestingly, Cody married Maria Flores at the same home where Robin and his ex-wife Marsha Garces Williams raised their son and daughter, Zelda.
The death of Robin Williams was truly shocking and disturbing in every sense of the word. One cannot fathom how a person who made everyone laugh with his humor was sad and lonely within. Just goes to show depression takes no prisoners. It doesn't matter if you are wealthy, beautiful or talented. It is just a sad reminder of the battles that so many of us are silently fighting.
Robin Williams' death came as a complete shock to us as we watched his movies to distract us from our own troubles without considering where some of what he's created has come from. However, his family has now paid a heartwarming tribute to the late actor-comedian which is truly beautiful. Robin Williams‘ youngest son, Cody Williams, honored his late father at his wedding on Sunday, which incidentally is on the same day the actor would have turned 68.
Interestingly, Cody married Maria Flores at the same home where Robin and his ex-wife Marsha Garces Williams raised their son and daughter, Zelda. As reported by PEOPLE.
According to the report, a recording of Maria singing “Never Enough” was played as guests held up yellow roses during the wedding. In another beautiful tribute, a candle with three wicks was also lit to show the love for those in their family who passed away. Meanwhile, Zelda took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, writing that July 21 “has meant many things to me over the years.”
“It’s the birthday of one of my favorite souls still on this earth, @junotemple. It’s the day Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon (as a space nerd, that’s pretty damn important),” she wrote. “And it was the day my Dad was born, and the last day I got to see him.”
“That last one had begun to usurp the joy of the first two in recent years… that is, until two days ago, when it became something new. On the 21st of July, 2019, it became the day I officially gained a new sister! To @mariaaafloresssswilliams and Cody, you are a light in all of our lives. I’m so grateful to have paid witness to your love over the years, to have watched you grow and care for each other in ways we should all be so lucky to experience.”
“You were already part of the family in my eyes, but now there’s an official slip of paper somewhere that agrees!” Zelda wrote. “Zak, Mom and I love you both dearly, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM!!!" she concluded.
Meanwhile, a new book on Robin Williams written by Dave Itzkoff also revealed that while the Oscar-winning actor was filming Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, he was never able to memorize his lines. This was said by his makeup artist Cheri Minns who once revealed to New York Post, "He was sobbing in my arms at the end of every day. It was horrible. Horrible. I said to his people, 'I'm a makeup artist. I don't have the capacity to deal with what's happening to him.'"
