Freddy Krueger Star Robert Englund Meets 18-YO Fan Battling Rare Disease, Making His Dream Come True

Just days after teasing he is down to play Freddie Krueger one last time, Robert Englund has now fulfilled the life long dream of a young Freddie fan who is battling a rare disease

Horror movies have always been a part of our lives. For all you horror buffs out there, you will know there has always been a sense of comfort and thrill that one can get watching a horror movie. The adrenaline rush is high, the jumpscares are all we live for and all the iconic horror characters we have been terrified since our childhood, it is indeed a way of life that we have cherished and will always do so.

And now one of our beloved horror icon, Robert Englund, who is known to bring shivers down our spine with his portrayal of Freddie Krueger, is on the news for all the right reasons. Just days after claiming that he is down to play Freddie Krueger one last time, the legendary actor has now fulfilled the life-long dream of a young Freddie fan who is battling a rare disease. Robert met Henry, the 18-year-old horror fan, after being contacted by the Make-A-Wish Illinois program. As reported by Screen Rant.

In what can be truly considered as a heartwarming photo posted on the Make-A-Wish Illinois Twitter account, Henry can be seen wearing his Freddy attire while striking a pose with Englund. The caption reads: "18-year-old Henry watched A Nightmare on Elm Street while coping with his rare disease. After being referred for a wish, Henry knew he wanted to meet his favorite horror icon @RobertBEnglund, who famously portrayed Freddy Krueger! @advocatekids"

Ever since the photo made the rounds of social media, people have been heaping praises on the horror icon for being so kind and caring toward his fans. And it is truly welcoming to see celebrities who use their power and status to reach out to fans. Little do they know that what might just be a basic interaction for them, could mean the whole world for the fans.

Speaking of Robert Englund, although there is still no official confirmation about him reprising his role as Freddie Krueger, one can't help but notice how him teasing a final performance, could make us believe all over again. Robert recently spoke to the public at Monster Mania and said, “We need a Freddy that can do the next eight movies – or seven, I don’t want them to remake Part 1 again, I’m not Freddy anymore, you guys. I could do one more…probably. If you shot me up with Vitamin C".

This was confirmed by Dead Entertainment [H/T Bloody Disgusting] who were present at Monster Mania, reporting that he told the crowd: "But here’s the thing. I can’t do eight more, you guys. So we need a new actor that you guys believe in and trust and love that can go the distance.”

Robert also revealed that he sees Kevin Bacon, who previously starred in the original Friday the 13th, as a great Freddie Krueger. "So we need a new actor that you guys believe in and trust and love that can go the distance.” Englund added “He’s not a kid anymore either but the rumor I’ve heard that I like is Kevin Bacon. Kevin loves horror. He’s a real actor. He’s a character actor. Kevin was great in Tremors. Kevin was great in Stir of Echoes. And I’ve heard this rumor. We need someone like that to take it on. And re-do it, exploiting all of the new technology.”
