People Are Really Struggling To Find The Camouflaged Snake In This Photo

Can you spot it?

Snakes, like many other reptiles, have a knack of blending perfectly with the surroundings. While they may not be able to actually change color like chameleons, it's almost impossible to spot a garden snake or even a rattlesnake that doesn't make any noise while it slithers through the shrubbery. That's exactly what Helen, a herpetology student from Florida, discovered when she found a snake that was so blended into nature she actually had to struggle to spot it in a photo. After sharing the photo on Twitter, she added the caption: “Received this from a fellow HERper this morning. No caption needed, the task was implied: “can you spot the snake?”

This is a real test for your eyes and senses, and you'll need to be in a calm state of mind to actually spot it. Are you ready to take the challenge and find the hidden reptile? Helen was kind enough to give a hint: “If y’all haven’t found it yet… Copperhead, aka Agkistrodon contortrix. Cute but venomous, so no touchy!” All said and done, this snake sure knows how to be a master of camouflage.

Okay, take a good hard look, because we certainly took our time with it. It's not easy even if you are an expert with reptiles and animals in general. In case you haven't guessed it already, the snakes' color exactly resembles the color of the leaves all over the ground. This makes them very vicious predators and also helps them stay clear of larger animals who may harm or consume them for prey.

Anyway, we hope you tried your luck with it as we are about to reveal the answer to you below. Here it is!

Wow. The snake sure knows its tricks very well and must have felt quite embarrassed being spotted with that expert camouflage it has going on.

In a similar online visual challenge, people were struggling to find a cat in a regular picture. The photo had hundreds of users on Twitter feeling baffled as they desperately scanned the image for signs of fur or eyes. All that most could find were the plants, books, household items, and picture frames in the photo. The tweet got over 230k likes and 53k retweets and very few actually managed to spot it without looking up the answer in the tweets. We are going to share this one as well and hope that you can find it!

As always, we have the answer for you. But you might want to give this a fair bit of time as we spend most of the day on the internet looking at cats anyway, don't we!?

There it is:

"Lately, it's behind the television, which is one of her favorite summer locations. If we can't find her we'll say, ‘Norah must be in her summer home,'" the uploader said in the comments. "We know 99 percent of her hiding spaces. Usually, I can find her right away. But sometimes she'll find a new spot."
