Following two heartbreaking miscarriages, Badgley's wife Domino shared the emotional news about their rainbow baby on social media.
YOU star Penn Badgley and his wife Domino Kirke are expecting their first child together. Kirke, who is a musician by profession shared the incredible news on an emotional Instagram post on Monday during which she also opened up about the pain of suffering multiple miscarriages, reported Cosmopolitan.
Kirke took to Instagram to post the cutest picture of her baby bump and it melted all our collective hearts. She wrote, "On the road again... pregnancy after loss is whole other thing. After two miscarriages in a row we were ready to call it. I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done. As a birth attendant, I’ve seen and heard it all. It takes everything I’ve got to detach lovingly from the losses I’ve been present for and be in my own experience. When I was pregnant at 25, I knew nothing. I had no community. I dove in blissfully unaware of birth and its mysteries. Now, with 10 years worth of experience to pull from, I treasure my birth community and the knowledge I have. You’re already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we’ve never had to, little one. Thank you."
Kirke, who is also a doula, reflected on her pregnancy with Cassius, her 10-year-old son from a previous relationship. However, this is the first time Badgley is going to be a father. In a conversation with US Weekly, Kirke said, "He doesn’t have to be ‘dad’ so he can have more fun with him. It’s really nice. The stepparent thing is definitely unchartered territory for me cause I didn’t grow up with one, but … he takes care of him really well.”
Apart from posting the picture of her baby bump, Kirke also posted some photos of herself and Badgley lying in bed with their dog asleep in between them. She captioned the picture, saying, "Our first baby..." Even though the couple has kept their relationship mostly private, Badgley recently took to Instagram with a sweet tribute for her birthday. He wrote, "For me, it is a joy to witness you when you are happy. For you, I always hope to be a source of joy. I’m really glad we’re married."
The adorable couple started dating back in 2014 and three years down the line, they tied the knot in a New York courthouse.
