Attention: Netflix Is Releasing A New Series On America's Most Haunted Locations

Horror fans will soon get to watch this creepy series directed by Joe Berlinger, the man behind the Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

The horror fans have a special gift coming their way on Netflix this holiday season. The streaming giant recently announced that they are planning a new documentary series on the most haunted locations across America.

Even though it sounds terrifying, there is absolutely no doubt that we will be binge-watching our way through this, and we cannot wait.

The upcoming docuseries has been described as a ‘gritty and meticulous study’ of some of ‘America’s most haunted locations’, as reported by Variety. 'True Crime' series maker Joe Berlinger, who was also behind documentary series Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and feature film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile, is set to direct the upcoming series.

Most likely, the documentary will take a look at abandoned mansions and mental asylums, as well as Eastern State Penitentiary, a former prison which is now open to the public as a museum.

The project has been acquired by the streaming giant from Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment, along with another series that will focus on the sexual abuse within the Catholic Chruch. The director of the original documentaries at Netflix said that his team is pretty excited for the docuseries to be brought to the streaming service.

He said, "The Imagine team has quickly built a first-rate division working with many of the industry’s top documentary filmmakers.

He added, "We’re excited about the rich and compelling series coming to Netflix and look forward to sharing these with our members around the world."

As of now, it is not yet known when will the series drop in Netflix although it is expected to be sometime in 2020. In the meantime, if you are a fan of crime and horror, you can look out for Netflix's new documentary centering on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, The Confession Killer, which drops next week.

The official synopsis of the series reads, "The Confession Killer tells the story of Henry Lee Lucas, a confessed "killer" who admitted to murdering hundreds of individuals. In the early 80s, Henry Lee Lucas confessed, in great detail, to killings all over the United States. Numerous unsolved cases were closed as a result of Lucas' confessions."

Lucas, who is from Texas, was arrested and convicted for the killing of his mother in 1960 and two others in 1983. But, during his conversation with police he would go on to confess to around 600 other murders, and if all of it is true, he is one of the most, if not the most prolific killers of all time.
