Some of our favorite horror movies are coming to Netflix next month.
Scary movies are something that we either love or avoid at all costs. Logically, we should be running away from things that induce fear. But there is a certain sense of intrigue in horror movies that keeps drawing people. While this concept is a little confusing but if you think about it, the horror genre is one of the most popular and profitable sectors in the entertainment industry. For a long time, Netflix has been home to diverse movies, but it has made a name for itself in terms of horror entertainment.
In their library, they have a lot of high-quality horror movies and the numbers are all set to increase from August as the streaming giant will be releasing new additions for horror lovers, reported We Got This Covered. One of the notable additions will be 1BR, which follows the story of a young girl who is starting her life all over after she is transferred to Los Angeles. But, as horror movies would have it, her surroundings start becoming insidious and the sinister nature of her neighbors is revealed.
The Jurassic Park franchise will remain a crowd favorite as we would like nothing better than to watch a bunch of folks being stalked and hunted by these prehistoric monsters. Netflix will be adding The Jurrasic Park, Jurrasic Park: The Misplaced World, and Jurassic Park III. Netflix will also be treating us with our favorite kooky family, The Addams Family.
Other additions are The Rain, a Danish TV series that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has perished by a virus carried by precipitation. The story follows a group of teenagers traveling across Scandinavia in search of the father of two who might have developed a cure. While Nightcrawler is not a horror movie per se, viewers will also be treated with this masterpiece next month. The movie follows the story of a thief-turned-stringer as he looks for accidents and crimes. He records the footage and sells them to a news outlet.
The streaming giant is also bringing parody horror movies like Scream 5. Other additions include Paranormal Activity, Mama, Sinister, Evil Dead, Insidious and, The Cabin in the Woods. Another highly anticipated addition is Project Power. Similar to Nightcrawler, while this movie is not exactly a horror addition, but it definitely deserves a mention. It is also a Netflix original that follows the story of a vengeful father investigating the spread of a drug that grants its users temporary superpowers.
Apart from new movies and TV series, viewers are also waiting for the release of the highly-anticipated fifth season of Lucifer which will be released on August 21. Going by trailer, the fifth season will be completely action-packed where viewers will get to see the King of Hell making a comeback to Earth, along with his brother Michael, who is hell-bent on destroying his life and threatening the folks he cares about.
