Loving Husband Spends 2 Years Planting Thousands of Flowers So His Blind Wife Can Smell Them

Mrs. Kuroki lost her eyesight because of diabetes, but her husband decided to bring the world to her and more.

In this day and age, hookup culture is all the rage wherein relationships last anywhere between a few weeks to a couple of months. Thus, it is very refreshing to see older couples who have withstood the test of time, and are still madly in love with each other. One such couple is Mr. and Mrs. Kuroki. They wed in 1956, and Mrs. Kuroki joined her husband on his dairy farm in Shintomi, Japan, reports The Telegraph.  Having spent 63 years together, the couple still can't get enough of each other, and a true testament of their love shone when her loving husband decided to do something special for her when a tragedy befell them.

The couple soon expanded their family with two kids of their own. After working hard for 30 long years, they decided to retire and explore Japan, but fate had other plans for them. At 52, Mrs. Kuroki became blind as a result of complications from diabetes RocketNews24 reports. After this, she withdrew into her shell and spent most of her time indoors and it was beginning to affect her mood. Her husband observed this and thought of something absolutely beautiful to cheer her up.

He had a small garden of pink shibazakura flowers also known as moss phlox and had noticed that a few tourists would stop and appreciate his garden and that's where he got the idea from. Since his wife couldn't see the flowers, she could certainly smell it, and thus he decided to bring the flowers to his wife. He decided to plant more flowers in his garden with the hope that it would attract more people and bring her out of her seclusion.

He reasoned that the scent of the flowers would help cheer his wife. This loving and dedicated husband then spent two years planting thousands of flowers so that he would be able to bring a smile on her face. As fate would have had it, all his plans worked out perfectly and his garden of love started to attract a lot of visitors, turning into a major tourist attraction.

On average, the garden attracts about 7,000 people per day when it's in full bloom. Their cowshed has been turned into a display, so they can share their love story with the world and most importantly, Mrs. Kuroki loves having so many visitors and is often seen around walking the garden with a beautiful smile on her face.
