A man has been arrested for choking his cab driver while he was driving because he wouldn't stop singing Christmas songs.
Christmas is the best time of the year and it should be Christmas every day? Um, not everybody feels that way. Sure, there is no denying that Christmas is one of the biggest holidays ever, but not everyone is a fan of Santa and all things Christmassy. Real-life Grinch-es do exist. A man was recently arrested for choking his driver while he was driving because he kept singing Christmas carols and the man couldn't take it. He became too irritated and attacked the other man, choking him until he couldn't breathe and gasped for air.
According to DailyMail, the police got a call early in the morning for a medical emergency along Route 28 in East Deer and they left to inspect the matter. Clayton Lucas, a 25-year-old man, from Harrison, Pennsylvania, told the police that he choked his driver because he just wouldn't shut up with his Christmas singing and he got too irritated. A state trooper first spotted a Chrysler Town and Country minivan parked on the side of the road.
The driver called for the police and filed a criminal complaint against his passenger, Clayton Lucas. He told the policemen that while he was driving, Lucas reached out for his throat and choked him until he couldn't breathe. The state trooper tried to handcuff Lucas and take him in for further inquiry but the man resisted arrest and didn't listen to the officers. They later had to hold his legs and forcefully cuff him.
The victim also clarified that he was singing out loud Christmas carols and Lucas tried to choke him to stop him from singing. In fact, the choking was so bad that it restricted air and blood and the victim was going to pass out. The police also noticed that the man's neck was red and his eyes were bloodshot. Clayton Lucas was arrested for the same immediately and was taken to prison for his actions.
Lucas is currently being held in Allegheny County Jail. He is also facing multiple charges, namely, aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. The news made headlines worldwide and went viral. While Christmas lovers are supporting the arrest, many people on the internet are claiming that what the man did was only justified and should be cut some slack.
"I know it isn’t right to choke people, but if I’m the judge this guy gets a pass," wrote a person on a Reddit thread. "Dude last weekend some fuck played Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas. Like wtf is that!?!? It’s not a bad song at all. In March it’s a wtf are you doing song though," added another. The driver should have stopped singing when the passenger asked and well, there is never a justification for choking somebody. So.
