Dr Ian Malcolm, Dr Ellie Sattler, and Dr Alan Grant might be returning to the Jurrasic Park after 18 years and we are beyond thrilled!
Okay, in all fairness, the Jurassic World movies were great, but nothing, NOTHING will ever come close to the good old Jurrasic Park movies. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the epic dinosaur movie released decades ago still remain in everybody's list of favorite films ever and come on, admit it, we all have watched the first three movies hundreds of times! Starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Bob Peck, and Martin Ferrero, Jurrasic Park was released in 1993, followed by The Lost World:
Jurassic Park in 1997, and Jurassic Park III in 2001.
Together, the movies cashed in more than a billion and the ever-growing popularity of the franchise gave birth to Jurrasic World in 2015, a trilogy. Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the movies featured an all-new park built on the same island filled with advanced tourist attractions and hybrid dinosaurs. Even though Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom were not THAT popular, they were STILL successful at the box office.
Now, the third and final movie of the franchise is in the making and Bryce is teasing that the original cast of the movie will be returning to the Jurassic Park! In an interview with MTV, when asked about the details for the upcoming movie set to release in 2021, Dallas teased that the original cast of the movie is in the talks of returning and if that happens, she will be really thrilled and she looks VISIBLY TOO EXCITED!
Goldblum previously made a cameo in the last Jurrasic World movie and considering that the franchise is coming to an end, it only makes sense that we get to see the doctors who made our childhood better, deal with dinosaurs once again! Laura Dern, who played Ellie Sattler in the old movies, has also revealed that she wishes to return for the final movie and would never say no to some more dino action.
"I mean, I love Dr. Ellie Sattler so I could never say no to that on any level. But I really don't know, I don't even know what they're cooking up yet," she told ET. Jurassic World filmmaker Colin Trevorrow has also teased bringing the old characters back, “I feel that way about everyone, especially Laura [Dern]… she never got to have her own movie. That identified as being something that’s important. We just wanted to put the spotlight on [Goldblum].”
While no official announcements have been made as of yet, we can certainly hope to see Dr. Ian Malcolm, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Alan Grant once again. Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow are returning as executive producer for the last installment of one of the most successful movie franchises ever made in which Colin would be directing as well. Temporarily titled Jurassic World 3, it has been set for a June 2021 release.
According to Bryce, the last movie will blow our minds with action and high-technology and she's totally rooting for the OGs to come back. "I'm hoping to see Dr. Ian Malcolm [Jeff Goldblum] in the flesh, in person. Because Claire never interacts with Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."
"I mean, honestly, a little bit in the way that Jurassic World blew your mind in terms of, 'Oh my gosh, the park is now open,' and Jurassic Park blew your mind because you're like, 'Oh my gosh, those are real dinosaurs.' I want for the third Jurassic World to be able to blow your mind in terms of being like, 'Whoa, this is where this technology can go. This is what the world could really turn into if this technology fell into the wrong hands.' So basically seeing a world with dinosaurs everywhere," she added.
