The creator of Michael Myers is coming back to score the upcoming two Halloween movies and we are thrilled!
Gordon Green's Halloween, a direct sequel to the original, was great but the best part was definitely John Carpenter's score. It definitely added a major fear factor and made the sequel stand out from the ones which lacked Carpenter.
Now, in case you are not aware, 2018 wasn't the end of Michael Myers because well, can you really kill the boogeyman? Nope. Two more Halloween movies are coming your way!
The sequels don't come as a major surprise, given the fact how popular Halloween was but we are certainly thrilled to hear the latest update on the franchise.
The father of Halloween aka John Carpenter is returning to lend his beautifully terrifying scores for the upcoming movie! Both Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will feature scores by Carpenter.
"I'm on board. Let's go," John revealed in an interview with ComicBook when asked if he's up for it. He also added that working on last year's score was super fun. "I loved it, It was a lot of fun. And I'll do the score, do a new score. That's always fun."
He also admitted that the reason there are two movies on the way is that the 2018 one was a huge hit. "Everybody, after Halloween was a big hit, everybody said, 'Oh, let's do it again'. So it was easy."
So there you go. Funny how some people thought Michael died in the house fire in the last movie. Real Myers fans are still not convinced that Halloween will actually end with 'Halloween Ends' but the team is claiming that will be the last we see of the man with the darkest eyes.
Blumhouse is working on Halloween Kills, which will be released on October 2020 and Halloween Ends on October 2021. As the name suggests, Halloween Ends will serve as a conclusion to the neverending Michael Myers VS Laurie Strode saga.
According to BloodyDisgusting, David Gordon Green who helmed Halloween 2018 is returning to direct the movie. Laurie Strode aka scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to resume her role and we have just learned that Nick Castle, the original Michael Myers, is coming back to haunt the streets on all hallows eve once again.
"You can't kill the boogeyman. Just heard the news. I'm coming back", Castle tweeted. He also added that his stunt double will be joining him in the upcoming sequels as well, "I'll be returning but, you know Big Game James still got the torch! More later."
Nick and Jamie returning for the movie don't really come as a surprise as both of them previously revealed that if Gordon Green returns to direct and Carpenter is on board, they will love to be back.
Scott Teems, who penned down Firestarter has been signed to make another Michael Myers movie. Teems has previously worked on movie adaptations of Stephen King novels for Blumhouse and will now contribute to Gordon Green's superhit Halloween. McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernie are on board too. Will you be checking the sequels out?
