'Ace Ventura 3' Is Reportedly In The Works, Jim Carrey Expected To Return

Morgan Creek Productions, who worked in tandem with Warner Brothers Pictures to bring the previous two films, have also teased the third installment of Ace Ventura.

For all the Jim Carrey fans out there, Sonic: The Hedgehog isn't all you can look forward to watching. If news circling the social media circles are anything to go by, you could be treated to another one of his releases in the coming months.

According to a report by We Got It Covered, the third installment of Ace Ventura is said to hit the cinemas in the near future, 26 years after the release of the first movie in the series. Jim Carrey, of course, is expected to reprise the titular role once again.

We Got It Covered says in good authority after correctly reporting that Bill Murray will be returning to Ghost Busters 3 as well as the impending reboot of the Scream franchise, and continues by stating that the same sources have hinted at Carrey donning the role, once again, as the unusual pet detective.

Morgan Creek Productions, who worked in tandem with Warner Brothers Pictures to bring the previous two films, are said to be keen on bringing the series back to the big screens. The report further says that Jim Carrey has made his interest known about returning to take on the role once again. This comes as a surprise because Carrey has often stated on record that he disliked the idea of doing the same roles over and over. So, anything is possible at this moment.

Adding fuel to the fire though is Morgan Creek Productions, who cheekily retweeted WGIC's article with the eyes emoji, meaning it may not just be a rumor after all and more could be happening in the background.

One thing is for certain though, fans worldwide will be eagerly waiting for the third Ace Ventura movie to hitch a gut-wrenching ride into the world of the funniest detective ever, a little over two and a half-decade after the second movie.

Carrey, who started his movie career with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, has gone on to establish himself as a comedy icon, taking on hilarious roles in movies such as The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura: When Nature CallsBruce Almighty, among others, while also breaking the type by featuring in poignant roles in movies such as The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Man on the Moon and garnering multiple Golden Globe nominations in the process.
