Jason Blum Wants To Make 10 More 'Halloween' Movies And We Are Here For It

Slasher fans, would you want to see 10 more Halloween movies?

It looks like Michael Myers is here to stay and he is not going anywhere, anytime soon. According to a report by Moviefone, the Halloween producer has expressed his interest in making 10 future Halloween films, which means, Michael Myers will be slashing his way into theaters for many years to come. After staying away from the big screen for almost a decade, Jason Blum's production company Blumhouse brought the popular slasher icon back with a purpose.

We all know that the 2018 Halloween movie was a major hit among critics and audiences alike and became the highest-grossing slasher since Wes Craven's Scream. The movie was quickly renewed for two more sequels, with Halloween Kills hitting the screens in 2021. The last Halloween movie showed Michael Myers had met his demise at the hands of Laurie Strode.

But it doesn't look like she got rid of the maniac killer as of now. As shown in the teaser for Halloween Kills, first responders rush to the scene after Laurie traps him into a fiery inferno. Blum stated that while he doesn't have the right to produce more Halloween movies, he hopes to make 10 more films down the line. He said, "Well, we had talked about it but right now we’re not shooting any “Halloween” movies right now because we don’t have deal rights to the sequels. But I certainly hope to make 10 more but I’ll start with one more.”

While this plan from Blum definitely sounds exciting, we are going to take this news with a pinch of salt, especially since all of us will definitely have a hard time believing that a franchise of 10 movies will remain interesting as ever. He continued, "It has to touch someone, emotionally, at the company. Halloween really touched [producer] Ryan Turek. He was really passionate about it. He had a really clear idea of what fans would want to see in the 11th Halloween movie and what they wouldn’t want to see. And that passion drove our decision to do it. So that’s what we need.”

While it still remains to be seen if Blumhouse or the fans can stay true and passionate to the franchise for 10 more movies, one thing is clear, people are definitely looking forward to two more sequels that are lined up. Directed by David Gordon Green, the 2018 Halloween movie follows the story of Laurie Strode, who comes face to face with Michael Myers after he escapes from captivity.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, "It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. -- but this time, she's ready for him."
