Ever wished you could be a part of a horror movie? 'Wrong Turn' is looking for extras and crew members and you can apply!
First of all, one of the biggest and most successful slasher franchises out there - Wrong Turn is getting a reboot and coming to the big screens after a hiatus of five whole years.
Not that fans were particularly waiting or rooting for one, but hey if every classic horror movie is getting a reboot, why should Alan B. McElroy's freaky cannibalism film stay behind? He himself is heading the reboot and penning down the script for the upcoming movie.
Secondly, since the movie is gearing up for development, they are looking for extras and cast crew. So, in case you are a fan of the movie or just somebody who always dreamt of being in a horror movie, you need to get your resumes in place.
The preparation of shooting will begin on July 29 in Cincinnati and the final filming will begin in September. You can apply for the positions here if you are OKAY with excessive gore and screaming - [email protected]
According to Deadline, Constantin Film is on board and producing the reboot and Mike P. Nelson of The Domestics is directing. “Alan’s reinterpretation of his own work and Mike’s vision are a frightening reflection of our world today: one person’s American dream is another’s worst nightmare," Constantin’s Robert Kulzer said in a statement. Charlotte Vega is reportedly playing Jes Shaw in the reboot.
Released in 2003, Wrong Turn starred Desmond Harrington, Eliza Dushku, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jeremy Sisto, and Kevin Zegers and managed to earn $28.7 million at the BoxOffice.
Not a lot but together, the franchise has released six movies Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007), Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009), Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (2011), Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines (2012), and Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014) that raked in millions at the global box office.
Anyway, like it or not, a reboot is happening and probably coming early next year. We don't have an official release date or more details about the cast though but until then watch this space.
Another classic getting a reboot this year cult movie The Craft. According to JoBlo, the reboot will start filming this October 15 in Toronto, with an all-new cast. As much as we ALL wish to see old coven reunite, it looks like it isn't going to happen.
Even though Robin Tunney teased of a possible return before, all speculations were trashed when an official announcement was made, revealing that the remake has found its first witch - Cailee Spaeny, the 21-year-old American actress who has played parts in On the Basis of Sex, Pacific Rim Rising, and Counting to 1000.
Producer Wick spilled some details about the upcoming reboot, "Here are some young women who once again discover the power of magic, and we explore their emotional lives, their wants, their fears, their longings, as they become empowered. So you know, the same way you use a war movie to explore the psyche of men, you get to create a heightened world to explore the psyche of these women. That seemed like an opportunity that was ripe and a way to make a movie that would be very much about now."
Will you be watching any of these reboots? The Craft is expected to drop next year as well.
