Vinessa Shaw, who plays Allison in Hocus Pocus, posed next to a crystal ball along with other cast members and wrote: “Oh, will there be a #2?” she asks in the caption, before adding, “‘Tis time!”
Halloween is just a couple of weeks away and we are already into all things spooky. If you are a millennial kid, you would know some of our first memories of the favorite holiday has been from Hocus Pocus and our beloved Sanderson Sisters.
The Halloween classic released almost 26 years ago starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy and yet it is still fresh in our minds. We can never forget the three wonderful Sanderson Sisters who cast spells on the children of Salem, scaring the living daylights out of them and laughing it off later.
And now, in a recent update that is surely going to make you feel all excited, the original star cast of Hocus Pocus came together for a reunion and are you thinking what we are thinking?
The photo shows Vinessa Shaw (Allison) posing next to a crystal ball along with other original cast members Larry Bagby (Ice), Tobias Jelinek (Jay), Omri Katz (Max Dennison) and Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson). “Oh, will there be a #2?” she asks in the caption, before adding, “‘Tis time!”
Could this mean we are actually getting Hocus Pocus 2? The internet has been surrounded by the sequel rumors for many years and this one is as close as it gets. Although there is no official confirmation as of now, this reunion photo has surely made our Halloween a whole lot better.
The cast members had come together for the taping of Freeform’s “31 Nights of Halloween Fan Fest” special on September 12 at the Hollywood Forever Ceremony. According to a US Weekly exclusive, Shaw had also revealed how important Hocus Pocus has been for her career.
“It’s a sweet sentiment,” she said. “I don’t feel bad about reliving Halloween moments but it’s not my favorite holiday!” Shaw said she was extremely inspired by Midler, Parker, and Najimy.
“I had watched Sarah Jessica in Square Pegs, the show that was on TV at the time and I thought she was so cool. I knew that she was a child actor and I was wanting to ask her all these questions about what it was like to be a child actor, and she was very maternal toward me, in that respect. Bette Midler, obviously every single movie she was in I worshiped as well" she said.
"...I barely saw her because she was always having to do more makeup than the other witches, unfortunately. But I just remember her being so wonderful and warm to me.”
Are you excited for a Hocus Pocus sequel if it happens? Let us know!
