Hallmark is now kicking off the festive season sooner than we thought and is now debuting two new holiday movies as part of the annual Countdown to Christmas lineup.
Just when you thought it couldn't get better with Hallmark announcing a record-breaking 40 movies for Christmas, the network has now come up with yet another surprise for fans. And Hallmark is now kicking off the festive season sooner than we thought and is debuting two new original Christmas movies as part of the annual Countdown to Christmas list.
The first film is called Christmas Camp which will premiere on July 7 at 9 p.m at Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. As reported by Entertainment Weekly. The movie will focus on Hayley (played by Lily Anne Harrison), an advertising executive looking for a promotion. But there's a catch. She will have to make things work with a traditional toy company account to get the promotion.
Also, how did they get both Lacey Chabert (CHRISTMAS IN ROME) and Scott Wolf (A CHRISTMAS LOVE STORY) for 2019 movies, and not pair them up? Holy missed opportunity, Hallmark! pic.twitter.com/idbkZHsfg2— Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing! (@SleepyKittyPaw) June 2, 2019
In order to get along with her new clients, she decides to join “Christmas Camp." And that's where she ends up meeting the camp owner’s son which is played by Bobby Campo. You might recognize him from The Final Destination. He teaches her about Christmas but as fate would have it, romance sparks between them. Christmas Camp is a part of Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ “Gold Crown Christmas” campaign during the summer.
Now the second film titled "A Merry Christmas Match" will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on July 13 at 9 p.m. The movie is part of the network's “Keepsake Christmas” campaign. The movie follows the life of Corey who lives in a ski village and decides to host a Christmas pageant for kids.
She also works at her mom’s antique shop and that's when Ryder shows up and the drama ensues. And Corey is also pondering whether she should leave the place and become a theatre director. So what happens next? We'll let you find that out. The movie stars Kyle Dean Massey, known for his role on Nashville, and Ashley Newbrough from Privileged.
Hallmark will air 24 movies on the original Channel while 16 of them will debut on Hallmark's sister network, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Not just Christmas but Hallmark will also be premiering two Hanukkah movies in 2019. The channel is branching out into reality programming with Project Christmas Joy: Alabama (tentative title), which will give a Christmas makeover to a town in need of one. It will also air Christmas Cookie Countdown, a five-part baking competition series on Hallmark Drama.
“Project Christmas Joy: Alabama” is a reality show that will focus on rebuilding a town and bringing in the Christmas festive mood. “This show aligns perfectly with Hallmark Drama’s exclusive offering of original content,” said Bill Abbott, president, and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, in a statement to Deseret News. “We look forward to bringing Hallmark holiday joy to a special town in Alabama for the 2019 Christmas season.”
