The world is not going through a very good time right now. Most of our newsfeed is full of dreary news on coronavirus and life as we know it is shifting into the unknown by each passing hour. During such difficult times, it is always important to take a breather. For instance, take a look at this adorable first-look image from the reboot of Baby-Sitters Club, reported Screen Rant. Netflix has finally revealed the young cast for the first time. After looking at this, those memories from my childhood came flooding back and made me feel quite nostalgic, to be honest.

The cast for the reboot was announced by Netflix on Thursday. The role of Club President, Kristy Thomas will be played by newcomer Sophie Grace. Along with her, Malia Baker will appear as Mary-Anne Spier, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill, and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer.
At last, I have the honor of introducing the girls of the Baby-sitters’ Club! I am so in love with each of these total stars and can’t wait for you to see our show! https://t.co/pG8mpz9ZpO— Rachel Shukert (@RachelShukert) March 12, 2020
The new poster for the series also bears a striking resemblance to the original book cover. In August, it was confirmed by Netflix that Alicia Silverstone will star as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, mother of Kristy and will also be the love interest of Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein.
Cool!. I'll be waiting for it. Glad the original books are on Audible, so I know what a lot of them are about. Gerat cast too, even if I don't recognize the names yet.— Brian Runyon (@bjr12777) March 12, 2020
The family-friendly comedy-drama will follow the original story of the characters Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey as they run their local babysitting gig while they are dealing with the adolescent problems. Baby-Sitters Club book series previously aired as a TV show in 1990. A movie version of the same name was also released in 1995. Last February, it was announced by Netflix that they were adapting the books into a television series once again. But, since then, not much information was available and we still don't know when this show will air.
We first became acquainted with the Baby-Sitters Club as a novel in 1986. Written by Ann M. Martin, the book became a worldwide bestseller upon its release. The 1990 TV show had 10 episodes each lasting 30 minutes. After the success of the first book, Martin went onto writing more than 35 books until other authors took over. At present, the series has over 200 books licensed in over 20 territories, and more than 180 million copies have been sold worldwide. Even though we don't have much information about the reboot as of now, but let's just be happy because this show reminds us of the simpler times.
When it comes to rebooting popular television shows, Netflix has seen a great deal of success in the past with shows like Arrested Development and Fuller House. There is absolutely no doubt that the reboot of Baby-Sitters Club will come with a heavy dose of nostalgia for the ones who have already watched it during their teenage years. Melissa Cobb, VP kids, and family at Netflix, in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, said, "The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs. Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporize the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues."
