You Can Now Experience The Spookiest Disneyland Rides From The Comfort Of Your Home

The rides also include Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World to the Pinocchio ride at Paris Disneyland.

Disney announced that in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be closing its American parks on Saturday and for the rest of March. Given the current situation, the two-week timeframe seems optimistic. However, if you were one of those who were hoping to hit Disneyland this month, you still can, albeit from the comfort of your home. Thanks to the internet, people are still getting to enjoy the most magical place on Earth.

Disney had already shut down its parks in Asia since January, and Disneyland Paris has also been shut down since last Saturday, which means, at present, there are no Disney Parks in operation at the moment. While that is incredibly heartbreaking for people who LOVE going to Disneyworld, we all understand that this decision was necessary. However, having said that, all hope is not lost because you can still enjoy the ride-through videos online.

In case you didn't know, there are a plethora of 360 degrees VR videos on YouTube encapsulating the full experience of rides at Disney and other theme parks. It is absolutely true that there is no substitute for the feeling of taking the actual rides but enjoying a VR video of theme park rides will kind of give you the feel of going on an actual one. Well something is better than nothing, right? If you are among one of those people who love taking a spooky ride then these two videos of The Twilight Zone Of Terror and The Haunted Mansion will make your day. The video is a 360-degree interactive one and if you are tuning in to watch the video with your VR goggles, the experience is as good as it gets to the real one.

Also known as the Tower of Terror, it is described as an accelerated drop tower dark ride located at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Tokyo DisneySea, Walt Disney Studios Park. The rollercoaster ride is inspired by the supernatural TV series titled The Twilight Zone by Rod Sterling. The Tokyo version of the ride features an original storyline not related to The Twilight Zone and it takes place at the fictional Hotel Hightower. The Tower of Terror is regarded as one of the tallest structures in the Disney resorts. California and the Tokyo versions opened in 2004 and 2006, whereas the Paris version opened in 2007.

Another spooky rollercoaster ride that horror enthusiasts can take is The Haunted Mansion. The website describes the experience of the ride saying, "Dearly depart into a foreboding estate, drag your body to the dead center of the Portrait Chamber and watch as the walls begin to stretch before your eyes. Climb into your waiting Doom Buggy and embark on a shivering journey into an unearthly realm. The disembodied voice of the Ghost Host is your private guide through the cadaverous dwelling—home to grinning ghosts and other spectral surprises. Glide past a rattling casket in the conservatory. Head off to Madame Leota’s spooky séance room. Float by the Grand Ballroom and its waltzing apparitions. Take a spin through a cemetery where the spirited residents regale you with song. Beware of lurking hitchhikers—these phantom pranksters may try to follow you home!"

So what are you waiting for? Grab your VR goggles and treat yourself to these amazing virtual rides.

It was recently announced by the Mouse House that it would temporarily shut down Disneyland in Anaheim and Walt Disney World in Orlando on March 14 and 15, respectively until March 30 keeping in mind the safety of their employee and visitors. The respective governors of California and Florida have both announced a state of emergency because of the Coronavirus pandemic, even before a national emergency was declared. The Mouse House also added that the shops and the dining destinations owned by Disney and Disney Springs, and all North American Disney store will be closed, along with Disney Cruise Lines, which will not operate all through March at least.
