A loving Utah dad dressed his son as The Elf on The Shelf and took photos of him getting up to no good.

It's almost Christmas which means its time to whip out all the Christmas decor and get all the Christmas rituals rolling. Get the Christmas tree up, decorate it, put up the stockings and even set up the Elves on The Shelves.
But this dad from Utah upped his Elf on The Shelf game. He took this practice, that some find creepy, and made it adorable.
Alan Lawrence, who is the father of six, turned his youngest son, Rockwell, into a real Elf on The Shelf. He told Today, "What if it was a real elf? And of course, being parents, we already have the cutest little 4-month-old. So we decided to make a fun series."
In this series, Lawrence has dressed his little one up in the Elf on The Shelf costume that was made by his wife and posed him in different places causing mischief. He documented the whole thing on his blog called "That Dad Blog."
On the blog, he writes a fun little backstory about how the elf randomly showed up in the family room one day. "I'm not sure how I feel about a small stranger in red tights wandering around my home at night watching my kids. I want to be positive about this but it makes me nervous. I've decided to allow him to stay (I don’t think I really have a choice) but I am keeping a close eye on him and have decided to document his activity while he is living here," he wrote. He documented the adventures of the elf for 16 days.
For the pictures, Lawrence posed with his son and later edited himself out, so don't worry if some of the pictures look dangerous. We see the little elf from his first time appearing in the Lawrence household and wreaking havoc to when Alan Lawrence decides to ship the naughty elf back the north pole. We see the cute elf TP-ing the Christmas tree, covering the toilet with wrapping paper, jamming the VCR with cookies and even taking "elfies."
He documented the elf reporting to Santa about not feeding him enough sugar. Lawrence put up the picture with the caption, "So I ended up taking all of the syrup and candy canes out of our house hoping this elf would leave but it only made things worse. He deliberately let me read his report to the big man tonight as a scare tactic."
He posted another picture with the elf hanging out in the shower with the caption, "This time the elf has gone too far. Tonight he waited until I had my eyes closed washing my face in the shower, then snuck up and started singing "Joy to the World" at the top of his lungs."
Having had enough of the elf's antics, Lawrence tricks the elf into a box to ship him back to Santa on Christmas eve. He captioned the last picture in the series saying, "He popped up right before I was about to tape the top and told me I was listening to the devil. I just want to make sure Santa picks him up tonight. I overheard him making plans with the kids and now I'm worried."
I don't see why you would want to send this cute elf back, especially since he's so fun to have around. It's not like he watches you while you sleep or anything.....oh wait.
