Photographers Create Magical Christmas Portraits To Cheer Up Kids In Hospitals Who Might Not Make It

The dull hospital backgrounds are photoshopped and edited to add the Christmas joy. For children, the end result is very surprising and it brings smiles to their faces.

Christmas is known as the best holiday out there for a reason. It is a festival of giving, receiving and making others happy. While we all try our best to be with our loved ones for Christmas and celebrate it together, it isn't always possible for some.

Especially the less fortunate ones who fall sick during the holiday season and are trapped in hospital beds. It is even more heartbreaking when a child is the one suffering and the doctors reveal that it might be their last Christmas.

The Heart Project is an organization which tries to bring Christmas cheer in hospitals. Started in 2016, the team of photographers and social workers visit sick children every holiday season and give them the Christmas portrait of their dreams. They edit out the scary hospital background and replace it with the kind of scenery the child wishes to have.

Most of these portraits end up being the last pictures of the poor kids and a memory for their families which is truly heartbreaking but the team is determined to keep doing the work they do to cheer up children in hospitals. Check out some of the beautiful pictures below:
