'An American Werewolf In London' Is Possibly Getting A Remake From 'Walking Dead' Creator

The '80s classic horror-comedy movie has a cult following and looks like, Rob Kirkman could be bringing the iconic movie back to life.

Most horror fans have grown up watching the cult classic horror-comedy movie 'An American Werewolf in London'. And now, a remake by The Walking Dead creator, Rob Kirkman is finally taking shape.

It has been a while since we have had any news about the remake, but now it has been reported that the reboot is coming from none other than The Walking Dead and Outcast creator Robert Kirkman, reported JoBlo

It was reported earlier that Max Landis was writing 'An American Werewolf in London' reboot and that was based on his father, John Landis' famous film. But that project turned out dead as a doornail after Max Landis was accused of sexual misconduct.

All we know till now is that Rob Kirkman is attached to the project, but hopefully, more details might be out soon.

The original synopsis of the movie reads, "David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne), two American college students, are backpacking through Britain when a large wolf attacks them. David survives with a bite, but Jack is brutally killed. As David heals in the hospital, he's plagued by violent nightmares of his mutilated friend, who warns David that he is becoming a werewolf. When David discovers the horrible truth, he contemplates committing suicide before the next full moon causes him to transform from man to murderous beast."

The original movie was directed by John Landis and he wrote the screenplay when he was only 19. The movie was produced by George Folsey, Jr. and it starred David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, Griffin Dunne, and John Woodvine.

It was released on August 21, 1981, and was distributed by Universal Pictures. For those who don't know about 'An American Werewolf in London', it follows the story of two young American students who are attacked by a werewolf while they are on a trip to England.

One of them dies and the other one embraces his nature and becomes a werewolf that terrorizes the city of London. As of now, no other details about this planned reboot is known, but keep an eye out as we will update it as soon as anything official is announced.
