The Antichrist has revealed that he would love to return to Ryan's horror anthology and is still not over his part from 'Apocalypse'.
A lot of new faces were introduced in the last few seasons of American Horror Story but nobody comes close to the love we have for Cody Fern. The 30-year-old Australian actor who made his debut in Ryan Murphy's horror anthology as the Antichrist in season 8 Apocalypse pretty much stole the show and fans can't wait to see him play a part again.
And, to our delight, Cody has revealed that he too would love to return to the series and be a part of American Horror story 1984, the ninth season revolving around slashers and the 80s.
In a recent interview with Gold Derby, when asked if he is a part of the upcoming season, Fern replied, "I wanna do it!" Sadly, he doesn't know for sure whether he will be asked to return or not. "That's how Ryan [Murphy] rolls. We'll wait and see. I have a pretty full dance card, but I would certainly like to be a part of it. Ryan! But I'm super thrilled about the 1980s. I love the '80s, especially thinking back to the Blitz kids and the fashion and the hair. That's right up my alley."
Cody also revealed that he hasn't let go of Michael still and he absolutely loved playing the dark role. "I haven’t let go of Michael. I really think that something is happening in society at the moment. People have more interest in the darker aspects of life. I think it’s very Jungian and I think it’s very much about trying to understand the darkness within ourselves...I got to do that with Michael Langdon. I got to go to some really dark places, and it’s fun. Playing out those dark things, that scene with Sarah where it’s long-haired Langdon, who was my favorite Langdon to play, ‘cause he was just so lascivious, he’s so in control."
Here's to hoping Murphy casts Fern again! As far as others are concerned, Emma and American-British freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy are the only ones who have been confirmed by Murphy himself to return for the upcoming season. All other details have been kept under the wraps for now and while we all can certainly hope for our favorite characters to return, there's one who is not coming back for sure - Evan Peters.
In an interview with GQ, Peters revealed that he is not up for another AHS season. "Yeah, I'm not doing it anymore. I just made a decision. I said to myself, "I can't do it anymore." It's not me. It's not who I am! I'm goofy, I'm silly, I like to have fun. I don't like to yell and scream. I actually hate it. I think it's disgusting and really awful, and it's been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me...It's hurting my soul and Evan as a person."
"There's this massive amount of rage that's been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that's been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I'm sick. I don't feel good. It's just exhausting. It's really mentally draining, and you don't want to go to those places ever in your life. And so you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating it somehow into your life. You're in traffic and you find yourself screaming and you're like, What the hell? This isn't who I am," he added.
Who would you like to see in the slasher season? Producer Tim Minear has teased that season 9 is going to be a treat for all 80's horror fans and the best one yet! “I think it’s gonna be really scary but a lot of fun, like it always is. And that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.” American Horror Story is going back to its horror roots, people. Are you ready?
