Adam Sandler To Star In New Halloween-Themed Netflix Movie With A Star-Studded Cast

One can only hope that Sandler can recreate the magic he did with his previous Netflix movie. Will he be second time lucky? Only time will tell.

Adam Sandler is finally back at Netflix once again and we are not really surprised, are we? Just coming back from his successful Netflix movie 'Murder Mystery' starring alongside Friends star Jennifer Aniston, Sandler has now finalized another big project with the streaming platform.

And the best part? It is a Halloween-themed movie and it doesn't get any better than this. And that's not all. According to Deadline, there is also a pretty impressive star cast that Sandler has assembled for his upcoming Netflix movie titled "Hubie Halloween."

The Halloween comedy will feature an all-star cast including Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis, and Kenan Thompson.

It goes on  -- China Anne McClain, Paris Berelc, Tim Meadows, Colin Quinn, June Squibb, Shaquille O’Neal, Karan Brar, Noah Schnapp, Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor, Kym Whitley, Lavell Crawford, Betsy Sodaro, George Wallace, and Blake Clark will also be starring in the movie. Wow. Only Sandler could bring in all these stars in one movie.

The upcoming movie will be directed by Steve Brill under the banner of Happy Madison Productions film. The screenplay will be written by none other than Sandler himself and Tim Herlihy.

According to the plot, the movie "follows Hubie Dubois who, despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween."

Although not many details have been revealed about the movie, including the release date, one can only hope that Sandler can recreate the magic he did with his previous Netflix movie. Will he be second time lucky? Only time will tell.

Sandler's previous Netflix movie Murder Mystery was watched by over 30 million accounts during its opening weekend, breaking quite a few records for a Netflix film. If you want more of Adam Sandler, you will also get to see him in the A24 comedy-drama Uncut Gems, which is said to hit theaters in December.

Sandler was also recently in the news for his emotional SNL tribute to his close friend Chris Farley. Sandler performed at the Studio 8H for the first time in 24 years with a guitar in hand. He was paying his respect to Farley who died in 1997 due to a drug overdose at the young age of 33.

“First time he saw me was sweeter than honey/ Plaid jacket and belt too tight, and he wasn’t even being funny/ Then he cartwheeled around the room and slow danced with a cleaning lady/ He was a one-man party,” Sandler sang, as photos of Farley were played in a slideshow behind him.

The comedian choked up when he sang about “the last big hang” with Farley at Tim Meadows’ wedding party in July 1997. “We laughed all night long because of Farley/ But a few months later the party came to an end/ We flew out to Madison to bury our friend.” He continued:

“Yeah I miss hanging out/ Watching you try to get laid/ But most of all I miss watching you torture [David] Spade/ You’re a legend how you want it, but I still wish you were here with me/ And we were getting on a plane to shoot Grown Ups 3.”
